Purchasing Coordinator

Job Purpose:

Provides raw materials for plant operations by identifying sources; obtaining samples; placing orders; verifying delivery.



Duties:

* Identifies raw materials sources by contacting and qualifying suppliers.



* Obtains raw materials samples by preparing and placing requests; monitoring, expediting, and verifying delivery; forwarding samples for analysis.



* Purchases raw materials by obtaining pricing and delivery schedule; preparing and forwarding purchase order for approval; issuing purchase orders.



* Verifies delivery of raw materials by tracking order fulfillment; expediting delivery; comparing receiving documentation to purchase order; forwarding sample of delivered raw materials to lab for certification.



* Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.



* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.



* Accomplishes purchasing and organization mission by completing related results as needed.
