Purchasing Manager
Purchasing Manager SUMMARY
Responsible for total procurement process of consumable supplies equipment and capital acquisitions. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Principal Responsibilities:
¨ Negotiates with suppliers to obtain product and pricing information, availability and delivery schedule.
¨ Logistic scheduling.
¨ Estimates values according to knowledge of market price.
¨ Determines method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
¨ Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
¨ Coordinates bid proposals and negotiates contracts within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
¨ Maintains and files procurement records such as items or services purchased, costs, delivery, product quality or performance and inventories.
¨ Reviews defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, vendors and others to determine sources of trouble and take corrective action.
¨ Approves invoices for payment.
¨ Expedites delivery of goods to users.
¨ Perform Annual Supplier Evaluations and maintains approved vendor lists according to ISO Quality Management System.
¨ Maintains Vendor files with appropriate documentation, i.e. sales tax exemptions forms etc.
¨ Data entry of raw materials into Database System.
¨ Prepare end-of-month inventory reports.

Interpersonal Skills: Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
Language Ability: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Math Ability: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Computer Skills: Expert use of Microsoft Office programs including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Internet Explorer and IBM Lotus Notes. Experience using Enterprise Software Systems or Enterprise Resource Planning (“ERP”) systems such as Oracle, SAP or Ross.

Education and/or Experience
Associates degree in Business, or five (5) years experience in purchasing field are required.
