Purchasing Manager - Electronic Components

The main responsibility of this position is to serve as the authorized agent for the purchase, through contractual commitment and within the scope of responsibility of their assigned products, goods and services. Major Functions: Establish and manage vendor supply base for assigned products, goods and service  Ensure Leviton Quality standards are maintained at all times Achieve Annual Cost Saving targets as established by VP of Materials and Procurement. Cost Savings to include both Cost Reduction projects as well as Purchase Price Variance performance. Manage Purchasing Agents and their procurement processes. Skills and Abilities: Must have strong communication skills, both oral and written Must have knowledge of computerized Purchasing/Inventory Control systems Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings, artwork files and/or service Knowledge and understanding  of quality improvement processes and practices is preferred Education and Experience: B.S. Degree in related field such as Business, Marketing or Engineering CPM Certification preferred Minimum of 5 years experience in Purchasing, Marketing or Engineering, but must have at least 3 years of experience in Purchasing Travel: Up to 15%** Leviton offers an excellent benefits package including 100% tuition reimbursement, a company paid pension plan and in-house training and development **  Leviton is an AA/EEO employer.
