Purchasing Manager - Fayetteville, North Carolina

The Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company currently has an opening for a Purchasing Manager in our Fayetteville, North Carolina manufacturing plant. The Fayetteville plant has over 2,700 employees and produces consumer tires. 

 

 

 

Position Description:

 

This role leads and directs the purchasing activities to ensure the flow of purchased materials to a large manufacturing facility. Additionally, they will procure goods/materials and services that meet quality and cost standards.  They will work with suppliers to maximize value while minimizing cost and develop and improve current purchasing procedures.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

- Develop, implement, and improve the site's purchasing strategy, procedures, and policies

- Interface between suppliers, managers, and engineers to facilitate delivery of quality parts and services

- Proactive communication to site leadership on matters relating to spending and cost management

- Negotiate purchases

 

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering

- Minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment

- Experience with the SAP system

- Proven negotiation skills

- Demonstrated leadership skills

- Highly skilled at developing and improving purchasing procedures

- Strong computer skills

 

Preferred:

- Experience in an automotive/automotive parts manufacturing environment

- CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) certification
