Purchasing Manager for Specialty Steel Service Center

Requirements:
5 to 10 years of relevant experience in steel industry with increasing responsibility.
BS in Business or Logistics
Experience as manager of purchasing function

Description/Duties:
Supervises and manages purchasing function including buyers, shipping and receiving personnel.

Plans and makes decisions regarding modes and methods of shipment for finished product.

Negotiator/decision maker for purchases of plate and bar steel product from domestic and foreign mills or service centers.

Negotiator/decision maker for purchases of various other job materials from outside vendors.

Negotiator/decision maker concerning the services of outside shippers and truck lines.

Ensures the logistical control of all incoming/outgoing materials so as to ensure proper inventory levels and on-time lowest cost delivery to customers.
