Purchasing Positions

The Salem Group, a premier Chicagoland Staffing Firm, is seeking expereienced Purchasing professionals at various levels to fulfill the IMMEDIATE NEEDS of our client in Naperville, IL.

 

The following positions are available:

 

 

Purchasing Specialist

As the Purchasing Specialist you will be responsible for supporting the Purchasing Manager in procuring materials for an assigned commodity group. This will involve:

• Formulating RFQs, analyzing & negotiating suppliers’ proposals
• Processing purchase/change orders, and working with internal departments
regarding supplier-related issues.
• Work on special projects, expedite critical parts, update & maintain records,
monitor supplier performance regarding quality/delivery requirements, and
approve supplier invoices.

 

Requirements:

• Must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel for projects.
• Minimum of an Associate’s degree with at least 1-3 years of directly related
  purchasing experience, or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• Background which includes supplier negotiations & purchasing is required.

• Experience with warranty returns/claims with suppliers would be desirable.

• Candidates must be highly organized, and have good analytical, problem-
  solving/negotiation and communication skills.

• SAP proficiency (including familiarity with databases) is desirable.

 

 

Purchasing Adminstrative Assistant

The candidate in this position will be responsible for supporting Buyers in the department by performing the following duties:

· Receiving and entering quotes

· Preparing RFP packages

· Expediting purchase orders

· Data Entry

· Handling inbound and outbound calls to buyers

 

Requirements:6 months to 1 year of general purchasing experienceBasic - Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft ExcelMust be accurate, dependable, and articulate

 

Purchasing Assistant

The candidate in this position will be responsible for working closely with one Buyer and performing the following duties:

· Working on special projects as assigned

· Receiving and entering quotes

· Preparing RFP packages

· Expediting purchase orders

· Interfacing via phone with the Buyer

 

Requirements:1-3 years of general purchasing experienceIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft Excel (experience with Pivot Tables and V-Lookups is strongly desired)Experience with SAP desiredMust be accurate, dependable, and focused
