Job Posting  Position Title: Category Manager  Date: April 28, 2008MRO, Capital Works& Process Consumables  Department: Procurement     Unit:  Beverage Packaging   * Position can be housed from Pine Bluff, AR or Canton, NC. Function and Scope: Manages procurement activities for the sourcing of  MRO, Capital Works & Process Consumables for Evergreen Packaging to achieve the highest value and the lowest long term cost. Develops sourcing strategies, performs supply market analysis, manages supplier relationships and performance, leads strategic sourcing teams, evaluates bid proposals and negotiates vendor terms. Assumes leadership role guiding and assisting sourcing and production teams in meeting business objectives.   Requirements:   Develops and implements a procurement strategy for the sourcing of MRO, Capital Works & Process Consumables to achieve the highest value and the lowest TCO cost for the business.  Identifies and leads the evaluation and commitment of supply related initiatives for the category products and contracted services.  Interacts with Production, Engineering, Maintenance and Service Support  managers in the application of strategic sourcing processes and supplier proposals and performance.  Leads negotiations with suppliers to ensure reliability and quality of service and supply and act as a link between suppliers and users to ensure business plans are in place to drive long term improvements in Total Cost of Ownership.  Manages the contractual relationship with category suppliers to ensure the quality and availability of materials and services are appropriate, that conflicts are resolved and continuous improvement opportunities are implemented.  Analyzes key market data to assess trends and market changes that impact service and product supply.  Keeps internal customers and management informed on supplier issues affecting service and product supply.  Maintains a thorough knowledge of relevant competitor and market issues that impact industry and potential supplier activities.  Provides leadership in interacting with the mill business unit and converting plant management on product category supply and contracted service management initiatives.  Provides guidance and leadership in maintaining effective purchasing transaction processes and procedures.  Ensures compliance with the company standard of ethics and all applicable company policies and regulations.    Requirements:   Education Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field.  Certified  Purchasing Manager and/or MBA degree preferred. Experience At least 3-6 years experience in a procurement/purchasing and/or supply chain management role with preferable expertise in MRP systems for MRO inventory management.      Knowledge:    Broad understanding of operational needs in a heavy     manufacturing environment, preferably in the paper making industry.  Proven leadership, problem solving and change management skills.
