Purchasing and Inventory Control Agent

With over 40 years experience as a leading manufacturer in our industry, our company is dedicated to the design and manufacture of custom rubber and elastomer products through molding and extrusion.  Our company is currently seeking an experienced individual for the role of Purchasing and Inventory Control Agent.

 

The Purchasing & Inventory Control Agent will purchase supplies and materials to support manufacturing at the optimal price and delivery cycle while maintaining lowest possible inventory levels. 

 

Duties and responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:Making recommendations, developing, implementing and following purchasing and inventory control policies, procedures and sequence of operations to optimize workflow Schedule material delivery dates to meet the production schedule Working with buyers, reviewing market, price, delivery conditions, and trends to determine present and future material availability Negotiating discounts, volume purchasing discounts, OEM pricing, etc. Selecting vendors on the basis of quality, price, capability and past performance following company guidelines Monitoring purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy Reviewing weekly inventory trendsReacting quickly to unexpected requests for information and quotes in an environment with multiple internal stakeholdersPurchasing large or complex items

 

Qualifications:Minimum 5 years buying or purchasing experience for a manufacturer with inventory control experienceStrong verbal and written communication skills Professional ethics, tact, and courtesy in dealing with suppliersExperience using Epicor Vantage 8.0 a plus, experience with other ERP systems will be consideredKnowledge of ISO and TS Quality systems
