QA Technologist

We currently have two first shift openings 5am - 2pm.

 

Summary:

The Quality Assurance Technologist performs quality assurance inspections of raw and finished product.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

•  Monitors all HACCP requirements and regulations.

•  Documents critical control points within processing operations.

•  Monitors quality control of products and processing lines.

•  Interfaces and communicates with the manufacturing staff on a regular basis to ensure product quality.

•  Works on special projects as assigned.

•  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

•  Strong organizational and computer skills.

•  Ability to work in a cold environment for extended periods of time.

•  Ability to work different shifts if needed.

 

Education and/or Experience

•  Bachelors of Science Degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or related field, or at least 7 years’ experience in the quality assurance field.

•  Some food industry knowledge; meat industry preferred.  Knowledge in Food Regulatory is a plus.

 



Language Skills

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, customers, and the general public. 

Bi-lingual in Spanish or Portuguese a plus

 

Computer Skills

Proficient in the use of computer technology including standard software programs such as Microsoft Word, and Excel.  Must be able to quickly and efficiently learn new systems and software to automate and analyze information.

 

Physical Demands:

Able to stand for prolonged periods of time; must have good vision.

This position requires participation in our mandatory respiratory protection program with respect to some essential tasks.  Performance of confined space entry is also required with respect to some tasks which are essential to this job.
