QC Analyst ICP 12 Hour Night

Position Summary This position is primarily responsible for supporting the production of automotive and diesel catalysts in a fast paced laboratory environment utilizing Inductively Coupled Plasma. Other analytical techniques including X-ray Fluorescence may also be performed. Support of other Quality Control functions such as physical inspection of final product against customer specifications is also required. Dimensions Annual Production: N/A Employees N/A Nature and Scope The incumbent will report directly to the Quality Control Shift Supervisor and routinely interact with Production engineers responsible for material batching. Multitasking and effective prioritization of sample preparations is required. Principal Accountabilities Turnaround of analyses in an accurate and timely manner. Perform check analyses to verify instrument calibration. Basic maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Analyze data to detect out of control conditions. A firm understanding of customer specifications. Maintain a clean and safe work environment. Comply with all environmental & health and safety federal, state, local regulations and company policies Provide support for on-line and off line solutions and samples. Complete inventory samples as submitted. Produce standard solutions for ICP. Make up blanks and reagents. Knowledge, Skills and Educational Requirements Associates degree in a relevant field with 1-3 years experience, or Bachelors degrees in relevant field with 1year experience or high school diploma with emphasis in science related curriculum and 5+ years laboratory experience. Experience with XRF/ICP analyses a plus. The incumbent should have a working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word along with the ability to use instrument specific software applications.
