Quality Analyst

Basic Function:

Responsible for inspection of various types of simple parts, items, devices, materials, subassemblies, or larger assemblies to ensure that incoming materials or final products meet the customer’s requirements and specifications.

 

Major Duties/Responsibilities:

  Performs wide range of basic inspection task to meet work group objectives, schedules, cost targets, service level and quality standards.

  Inspect and audits incoming materials or final product to ensure accuracy, e.g. product identification, and compliance with specified quality standards.

  May test, measure, visually inspect or otherwise verify the accuracy and quality of incoming materials or final product.

 

  Prepares reports regarding discrepant or defective parts/materials and/or final product.

 

  Records sampling results. Makes recommendations regarding findings and implements solutions.

 

  Provides feedback to appropriate individual or area regarding results of inspection.

 

  Participates in non-conforming materials process and/or other related processes.

 

  Assist in the development of production standards to meet quality specifications and recommends changes to basic procedures.

 

  May provide limited work direction to entry-level quality assurance technician.

 

Work Environment:

Production inspection area. Requires lifting (up to 20 lbs.) and some standing and sitting for extended periods of time.

 

Competencies:

Learned Skills

  Intermediate-level quality analyst position

  Demonstrated understanding of finishing and coating, e.g., surface attributes, variables, and types, the application of quality testing and measuring devices to the production environment.

  Demonstrated ability to interpret and use blueprints and engineering drawings.

  Ability to use various inspection equipment such as measuring devices, microscopes and thickness testers.

  Arithmetic ability including decimals, fractions, percentages.

  Experience using calculator, computers and prescribes computer programs.

  ISO 9001 Auditors Training preferred

  Requires a minimum of 2years related experience.

  Demonstrated ability to apply judgment to determine and re-adjust process priorities and make trade-offs where objectives, schedules or priorities may conflict.

  Works under moderate supervision of senior-level technicians and manager.

 

Interpersonal Relationships

  Demonstrate ability to communicate process data to peers, technical support, production/manufacturing and engineering type personnel, management and others, both verbally and in writing.

  Demonstrated ability to actively participate with group in addressing work related issues.

 

Systems Interrelationships

  Good understanding of the production process and systems involved.
