Quality Control Inspector- SW

Job Title: Quality Control Inspector – 1st Shift

Specific Duties:

 

1. Injection Molding Floor Inspection:  Verifies First Piece and End of Run samples, differentiates cavitations, verifies match of part number, bag tag, and box label, identifies visual defects using Quality Check Standard, Inspection Standards, and Limit Sample Boards, and completes appropriate paperwork.  Notify supervisor when problems occur.  Stamps product status.



2. Functional Testing:  Performs “insertion” and “retention” on Instron test machine.  Measures values and records results.  Approves/rejects parts based on testing results and standards and disposes of tested parts.

 

3. Final Assembly Floor Inspection:  Inspection of Finished parts based on Inspection Plans, including functional, visual and packaging requirements.  Write up non-conforming reports and notify supervision by using the Parts Problem Resolution Sheets.  Complete Sample Inspection Reports and stamp product status.  Assure sample data is complete and with the shipment to Toyota.

 

4. Dimension Testing.  Uses blueprints to correctly identify part dimension specifications and uses calipers and Check Fixtures to determine if part meets design specifications.

 

5. Quarantine/Non Conforming Material Reports (NCMR).  Follows procedure in using Quarantine Facility for NCMR’ed products.

 

6. Incoming Inspection:  Matches incoming material to material certification, inspects incoming Japanese component parts to Inspection Plans and issue Internal Component Inspection Reports.  Complete appropriate paperwork.  Reviews components used in secondary operations with specifications, determines “accept” or “hold” of incoming material, and uses correct labeling procedure for approval and FIFO storage.  Takes action on non-conforming product.

 

7.  Dock Audits:  Conducts dock audits as specified in the Control Plan, including labeling, packaging, and shipping documentation correctness to standards.  Make sure appropriate paperwork and sample data are included in shipping requirements.

 Requirements & Qualifications

 

•  High School diploma or equivalent. 

•  Minimum of 6 months experience in Injection Molding preferred.

•  Good Mathematical Skills.

•  Understanding of basic blueprint reading principles, understanding of quality principles and practices, and experience using measuring equipment such as calipers, micrometers, and chatillon desirable, but not required.  Training can be provided.
