Quality Control (QC) Manager / Supervisor

Job Description: 

This Team Member is expected to establish, maintain and optimize an effective quality management system as well as create and implement a quality plan to achieve the levels of quality through-out the department.

Responsibilities:

§ Oversee and manage the Quality Control Department

§ Oversee and direct daily activities of quality technicians and quality engineers.

§ Work with internal and external customers on quality improvement of returned products including recommend/implement corrective and preventive actions

§ Establish and improve regular quality reporting

§ Head-up Corrective & Preventive Action Analysis and Processes

§ Research observations and conduct Root Cause Analysis on errors

§ Document all progress to ensure adequate corrective & preventive action has been taken

§ Analyze the data gathered in the Corrective & Preventive action database

§ Chart & graph quality data on a monthly basis

§ Participate in “on site assessments” at many of our supplier and affiliate locations

§ Become an Internal Lead Auditor and participate in internal & external audits as assigned

 

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

 

§ B.S. Degree in an Engineering or related discipline

§ 5-7 years of Quality, Engineering or related experience

§ Knowledge of Standard ISO Quality Management Systems

§ Knowledge of manufacturing and quality technologies

§ Experience with quality improvement tools and techniques (i.e., Lean, Six Sigma, Statistical Process Control, and Failure Mode & Effects Analysis)

§ Demonstrated leadership, project management, facilitation and problem-solving skills

§ Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

§ Proven Project Management & Time Management skills

§ Must be very analytical and have the ability to chart & graph data in many formats

§ Willingness to travel to suppliers locally and out of state (most travel is local)

§Must believe in the spirit of “continuous improvement”
