QA/QC Manager

RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee the departmental operations for the Quality Assurance/Quality Control department.

Develop, review and improve the company’s quality systems as they relate to Quality Assurance/Quality Control to ensure compliance with all federal regulations for the dietary supplement industry.

Assist other departments in the development of their quality related processes, SOP’s and documentation to ensure compliance with all federal regulations for the dietary supplement industry.

 

Support senior management in liaison responsibilities with the FDA and other federal, state and local government agencies, which visit, inspect, or audit.

 

Initiate system enhancement/upgrades and participate in their development, coordination, testing and implementation.

 

Perform vendor audits and submit vendor audit reports to senior management

Perform internal auditing of all departments and submit reports to senior management

Review all department SOPs and revise when applicable

Coordinate schedules and approve vacations for all personnel

Interview and hire new personnel

Implement department goals and make specific recommendations for division goals, objectives and policies.

 

Establish department goals by gathering service information from reports covering status of work, turnaround, timeliness, attendance, quality and quantity performance measures of employees.  Identify and evaluate trends, develop a course of action and evaluate outcomes.

 

Accomplish results by coaching, mentoring, counseling, disciplining employees; may include implementing corrective action(s) and discipline; monitoring and appraising job performance and results; timely evaluation, feedback and coaching of job performance, and implementing policies and procedures.

 

REPORTING

Ensure proper customer complaint tracking and reporting

Ensure proper Non-Conformance tracking and reporting

Ensure proper tracking and reporting of quarantined materials

Ensure proper tracking and reporting of change control documentation

Submit weekly manager reports

Submit vendor audit reports

Submit Internal audit reports

MINIMUM JOB QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

 

Bachelors Degree or Equivalent in Experience

5 + years in a manufacturing environment

5 + years experience supervising a Quality Assurance/Quality Control Group

Prior experience in nutritional supplement or Pharmaceutical Industry preferred.

Knowledge of cGMP as they relate to both the food and dietary supplement industries

Strong written and verbal skills

Must be able to work in fast paced environment and demonstrated ability to organize and prioritize multiple, competing tasks and demands. 

 

Possess the ability to identify problems, trends; develop solutions and implement a course of action

Experience in statistical process control and process improvement

Complete understand of ANSI or MILStd105E

Possess strong project management skills

Ability to assimilate information quickly

Proficient in Microsoft Office
