Quality Control and Assurance Manager

Polyglass USA, a well respected manufacturer of commercial asphalt roofing products located in Northern Nevada, is recruiting a qualified candidate for Manager of Quality Assurance and Control.

 

Requirements:

 

·  Perform quality audits of the production facility, based on a structured format, and report results to the VP of R&D in a timely manner.

·  Make recommendations that continue to improve quality and reliability of operations, and assisting production facility in developing a documented quality improvement plan

·  Establish and maintain a corrective/preventive action program, inclusive of tracking status of open actions, receiving and reviewing responses, working with manufacturing locations for timely completion and periodic reports and metrics.

·  Analyze statistics as reported by intelligence reports, and by claim data, on the nature of quality issues, and assure that adequate conformance is being maintained by each location.

·  Assist facilities with standardization issues and procedures, test, matching, etc.

·  Work within a laboratory environment, including performing laboratory testing as necessary.

·  Ensure that standards are set and testing results are comparable, and that proper calibrations are occurring based on data in conjunction with Research, based on round robin studies and other data.

·  Assist facilities in training new quality staff, and to make sure that conformance to all requirements are met, and report on same.

·  Coverage for short-term absenteeism at sites when required

·  Assist in developing the product specification sheets for manufacturing locations.

·  Evaluate Raw material suppliers and develop COA’s.

·  Perform testing and formulating of polymers as they relate to Asphalt.

 

Sales and Marketing Responsibilities

 

·  Investigate concerns related to product quality

·  Perform site audits and inspections, alone or with sales personnel

·  Perform as liaison between company and customers with technical or quality issues as required.

·  Audit and assure products meet requirements, or to advise of new or improved requirements in conjunction with research and governing code bodies.

·  Review of claim test data and claim samples, and to authorize acceptance of claim test results as required.

·  Gather competitive samples, literature or knowledge as or when required, and keep organized files on same, reporting trends and key variations that may be noticed.

·  Perform and supervise at least one per year a competitive audit of products, and report on same.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

Qualified Candidates for the Quality Assurance Manager position must posses the following:

·  Perform and supervise at least one per year a competitive audit of products, and report on same.

·  BSc. degree with at least 3-5 years of previous QA/QC Management experience from within a Manufacturing Facility (preferably roofing manufacturing).

·  Ability to work within a laboratory environment, including performing laboratory testing as necessary.

·  Demonstrated experience working in fast paced production environment, including data collection and interpretation.

·  Demonstrated written & verbal communications skills.

·  Working knowledge of Statistical Process Control methodologies, including knowledge of quality control principles (trend analysis, corrective action, root cause analysis

·  Experience on Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point

·  Demonstrated Coaching and personnel development skills

·  Supervisory experience/training an asset

 

 

Wages are commensurate with experience.
