Fine Art Lamps was founded in New York in 1941 and moved to Florida in 1976.  The company has expanded to three plants and 600+ employees housed in 430,000 square feet, making it one of the largest manufacturers in Florida.  A broad range of designer-oriented lighting products including chandeliers, table lamps, and sconces are handcrafted within its own facilities.

 

A team of over forty design and development specialists develops all designs in-house. Fine Art Lamps is a vertical manufacturer making most of the principal components, in metalworking, glass blowing, resin casting and shades. 

 

The company has been chosen a recognized leader in lighting 9 times in the last 14 years as manufacturer of the year for the United States in its field.

Fine Art Lamps products are displayed at the International Home Furnishings Center in High Point, NC, the Dallas Trade Mart in Dallas, TX and a corporate showroom in Miami Lakes, FL; as well as in leading lighting and furniture showrooms throughout the world. ABOUT THE POSITION…

This position will be responsible for exploring resources and possibly technologies in order to develop new design concepts that are efficient and effective to manufacture while still respecting the design.  Develops mock/ups/prototypes, SOP’s, specification of tools and possible new vendors and practices.

 

Interface with designers in design concept phase to identify R&D, new technology, manufacturability, potential regulatory issues, and tools to develop new processes that support/designers intent ex: Vendors visits, Internet research, brainstorming sessions, study models, etc. 

 

Actual build of prototypes.  Hands on manufacturing with core personnel and on your own.

 

Specing of materials that support designer’s intent for approved concepts, provide input and co-design spec folders in order to release to Product Development.

 

Pre-Engineering discussion with PD and Process Engineers to finalize and release new design concepts.

 

Requires Bachelor’s Degree and knowledge acquired through 3-5 years of prior job experience or education.
