We are an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.Position Summary:The Lead Systems Engineer is responsible for new product development projects as assigned. This responsibility includes the activities and inputs required by the Stage Gate Process (the design process) for a successful product development; including (but not limited to) business planning (working with marketing), conceptual work, product design, working in close association with operations, and the product launch.During the various phases of the product development, the Lead Systems Engineer is expected to take a leadership role in the technical aspects of the project. This leadership roll includes working in close support of the marketing group, providing the technical leadership and guidance during the design and production phases of the product development to other technical people. The individual is in a position to ensure that the designs produced are cost effective and meet the overall specifications that have been generated.The Lead Systems Engineer will place emphasis on meeting team goals, working in terms of objectives requiring project planning and judgment, solving complex issues, and mentoring and leading other technical people on the team, in harmony with the Project Manager. As a Lead Systems Engineer, the individual is to provide the expertise and guidance in all areas of technical need, including: mechanical, electrical and manufacturing (if required).Job Requirements:Bachelor degree with 6 to 8 years of experience, or Master?s degree with 4 to 6 years of experience. Must have experience in product development, and in project management. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to apply advanced engineering principles and theories to very complex issues. Demonstrated ability to learn new or different technologies quickly and be able to teach/train others.
