RO Mechanical Design Engineer

JOB SUMMARY:

Mechanical Design of water treatment systems and facilities including sea water reverse osmosis and brackish reverse osmosis systems.  Design all structural/mechanical systems and components as well as ancillary equipment required for sea water and brackish water reverse osmosis systems.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Take a lead position on new projects ensuring all aspects are completed.

-Investigate and analyze new products and processes.

-Create a P&ID and select major components for brackish water and sea water reverse osmosis systems to deliver the water quality specified.

-Design structural, mechanical and piping systems using CADD software.

-Produce fabrication drawings, creates material cut lists and submittal documents.

-Specify structural/mechanical components; creates bill of materials (BOMs).

-Provides technical support for Services, Sales and Production departments.

-Assists Applications Engineering and Sales departments with technical support.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

-The position requires a Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Environmental, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering

-Six years of related experience in desiging sea water and brackish water reverse osmosis systems as well as ancillary equipment such as media filters, chemical feeders and pumping systems. 

-Intermediate to advanced computer skills in AutoCAD (preferably AutoCAD 3D), Pro E and Microsoft Office.

-Ability to read, analyze, interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, or technical procedures; to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

-Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. 

-Possess intermediate mathematical skills, strong reasoning ability, and ability to work on multiple projects in a fast paced environment.
