Regional Controller

  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    1. Performs advanced analysis of data supporting production management to help make better decisions, solve problems and improve performance. 2. Develops cost analyses in and outside of SAP in order to determine areas for necessary improvement to plant manager, Business Unit Controller, and other managers. Help management to understand anticipated cost effects for proactive changes. 3. Provides guideline on cost structure and product quote, auditing proper use of product cost guideline. 4. Reports daily, weekly, monthly production costs to senior staff. 5. Assists with projects where analyses of processes are necessary to improve costs. 6. Prepares Requests for Equipment (RFE) proposals. 7. Performs daily and monthly duties. · Handles SAP monthly settlement on production orders for New Mexico and California plants. · Prepares monthly production cost variance reports. · Prepares monthly plant reports. 8. Creates new costs and maintains costs of all materials (ROHS, HALBS and FERTS) in SAP. Works closely with MRP, purchasing, production and warehouse to provide current costs. 9. Assists in yearly expense and standard cost budget. · Prepares reports for plant personnel for cost center budgets. · Inputs, reviews, changes cost center budgets in computer system. · Analyzes, calculates and inputs cost center labor and machine rates for the year. · Reviews capacity per cost center for adjustments. · Calculates overhead rates. · Manages yearly updates of raw material standard cost in SAP. Works closely with purchasing and supply chain manager to make sure the costs are the most accurate costs available. 10. Performs ad hoc analyses as requested by the BU Controller, BU Manager, Vice President or Corporate Office. 11. Performs other related duties and leads special projects as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:   1. Minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Accounting or a related field, MBA and/or CPA is not required but is highly preferred. 2. 3-6 years of hands on experience in an accounting management role preferably within a manufacturing environment. 3. Solid knowledge of general ledger accounts, profit and loss statements, and financial statements. 4. Strong leadership skills commensurate with leading teams on special projects. 5. Basics of financial accounting including ability to produce a profit and loss statement. 6. Exceptional knowledge of company products/processes. 7. Demonstrated ability and willingness to follow managerial/supervisor instructions. 8. Must be able to handle stress. 9. Ability to maintain friendly, cooperative, stable demeanor and get along well with others. 10. Strong communication skills. Ability to interface well with internal and external customers. 11. Ability to make effective decisions. 12. Strong computer skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.  13.
