Position Description:

Scholastic Book Fairs works with schools across the country to host more than 120,000 annual reading events, connecting more than 55 million children with great books each year. Book Fairs foster enthusiasm for reading, while helping to build school and classroom libraries by providing students, teachers and parents access to thousands of books and educational products at affordable prices. We are looking for an Inventory Coordinator to support the Region Inventory Manager (RIM) and Branch Inventory Coordinators (BIC's) on all of the following systems: purchasing, inventory locator, inventory scanner and web based system applications (Fair Wizard planning system and the Data Warehouse). Responsibilities include: Assist the RIM in ordering, receiving, re-allocating and shipping all inventory items including marketing and corrugated materials.Track the execution and disposition of donations, value pack operations (internal or shipments to a 3rd party), damages and destroys.Create branch and region aged inventory lists to assist in the sell through and visibility of these product groupings.Daily monitoring and advisory to the regional management team on regional and branch out-of-stocks on advertised, high revenue, Litfest or other pertinent category titles.Daily review the reorder report and make recommendations to the RIM for fulfillment alternatives.Create branch-specific schematics to support the region in establishing supplemental title schematics (assorted copies in schematics, Kids Pick case, etc.)Assist RIM in recommending inventory-balancing opportunities between branches.Assist all branches on line resets to ensure that all inventory and operation processes are followed. Input special order requisitions as needed.Respond in a timely and accurate manner to customer and co-worker requests for information relative to product including pricing, title availability, usage, etc.Create and maintain regional inventory control documentation and forms to support regional standardization across all branches.Compile weekly and monthly operations reports from branches, including the branch and region Inventory KPI's.Maintain confidentiality including but not limited to pricing, costs, promotional strategies, distribution, inventory, customer lists and financial reports.Perform other regional or branch specific duties as requested by the Regional Inventory Manager.Regular attendance in accordance with schedule.Our generous full time benefits include career opportunities, competitive salaries and comprehensive healthcare (medical, dental, vision, prescription) as well as 401(k) and pension plans and a 50% employee discount!

Qualifications:

Must have a High school diploma or GED equivalent. Associates degree in management or equivalent experience is preferred. Must have a minimum of 2 years of Inventory background in a distribution center environment with an emphasis on inventory control, shipping & receiving and other inventory related processes. Knowledge of a computerized inventory management system with scanner functionality. Basic Working knowledge of the Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook email. Must be detail oriented with a high level of accuracy across a broad SKU(stock keeping unit) portfolio. Strong interpersonal, organizational, math and communication skills are required.Must be able to solve inventory and operations related problems in a distribution center environment.Must be able to lift 30-40 lbs. on an unassisted basis, repeatedly. Must be able to travel up to 25% of the time to other branch locations.Previous experience with an AS/400 based system is preferred.Knowledge or experience in one or more of the following environments is preferred: book fair operations, retail, distribution center and/or publishing.EOE/AA/H/V/DFWP
