Job Description Regional Sales Asst. - Midwest Region 1.1This person will be responsible for providing broad administrative support services to a regional sales team at Thermo Fisher Scientific. He/she will assist with driving new customer sales, maintenance of customer accounts and reaching sales targets as determined by management. Anticipated travel for this person will be 5% of the time. Sales 1. Answer incoming calls and e-mails from new and existing customers and forward new business opportunities to the regional sales team.2. Qualify new leads via telephone and e-mail using lead qualification methodology as instructed by management, promoting leads to opportunities and re-assigning to regional sales team as appropriate.3. Learn the functionality of the company’s products, (i.e. how they are installed, configured and used.) Learn the product’s applications and limitations, features and benefits.4. Report to sales and marketing management on lead qualification campaigns on a periodic basis.5. Support existing customer base on a pro-active basis by serving as a “voice of the customer” to regional sales management team. 6. Assist the regional sales management teach with sales quotations and proposals.7. Maintain good relationships with customers. Solicit end user testimonials or the customer’s willingness to be a reference for NITON Analyzers.8. Enter new leads into sales database; assist with literature fulfillment as needed. 9. Maintain, track, and update status of customers and prospects in the company’s CRM tool.10. Prepare and submit new product orders upon receipt of customer purchase order in accordance with established policies and procedures.Tasks You may be called upon to assist others in doing the following: 1. Ensure NITON Analyzer products are successfully installed and the customers are properly trained 2. Resolve problems reported by customers.3. Attend trade-shows; assist with a demonstration and/or new product installations. 4. Perform other relative duties that may be assigned from time to time. Education 1. Bachelor’s degree in related field (business, marketing or science-related preferred). Work Experience 1. Minimum 1 year customer service or sales experience. Skills 1. Strong interpersonal skills with the proven ability to build and maintain relationships, work well within a team and present themselves professionally. (The incumbent will have frequent interactions with employees in the Billerica facility, Distributors, Sales Reps and customers.) 2. Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. 3. Able to communicate by e-mail and telephone to achieve results quickly.4. Strong written and verbal communication skills. 5. Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. The person for this position must be enthusiastic, energetic and interested in cultivating a career in sales. He/she must be conscientious, efficient, hard-working and highly self motivated. They must be organized, able to prioritize, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
