Position Description:
Norandex Building Materials Distribution, a $800 million unit of Saint Gobain, is one of the largest distributor of vinyl siding in the U.S. The company operates more than 150 branches in 37 states and sells exterior building products to new home builders and remodeling contractors in their respective territories.Regional Sales LeaderLocation: Various - Region Specific (Office or Home Based)Position Summary:This position reports directly to a Regional Manager and is responsible for increasing revenue and gross margin rates within a Region. Particular emphasis will be placed on coaching & counseling of Branch Managers and Area Sales Leaders (ASL) as well as the leadership of a systemized sales approach (SMART) which drives consistent profitability and growth across the assigned branch network. This position will require extensive travel and coordination with Branch Managers and ASLs. Planning and managing sales, as well as training and providing support to branch sales representatives is essential. In coordination with the Regional Manager, the incumbent is also responsible for servicing key accounts within the Region.We are somewhat flexible with the location for this position - Omaha is our first choice; Salt Lake City is our 2nd choice.
Qualifications:
Duties and Responsibilities:Primary• Accountability to drive sales/margin plan in alignment with business goals. • Develop and coach branch sales force(s) on value selling within the assigned region to include training on products/programs, sales strategies and tactics, territory management, time management, pricing, product knowledge, competitive product knowledge and customer trends and buying habits.• Insure that SMART Selling and Action Selling are fully utilized with all requirements met.• Conduct joint sales calls with Area Sales Leaders and Branch Managers driving sales growth.• Develops, maintains, and implements short and long term sales strategies for increased sales and margin in all branches within the assigned region.• Assist the Regional Manager in selecting, assessing, and leading sales talent to include the creation of goals and/or critical outcomes.• Development of market analysis, identification of target accounts and development of plans to secure target accounts.• Collects, analyzes and assesses competitive information.• Facilitate pricing decisions with oversight from Branch Managers and Regional Manager.• Act as a resource for positioning requests to the Regional Manager and insuring all competitive documentation is provided.Secondary• Relationship Development (broad & deep) with key accounts & business leaders. • Identifying perceived gaps in our product and service value offerings that present opportunities for growth. • Identify all sales tools/resources required to positively impact customer satisfaction.• Be actively involved in all branch/regional sales meetings.• Communication and implementation of product and marketing programs.• Provides ongoing interface with the branch network and Marketing.• Leads sales representatives in the negotiation of agreements.• Addresses all quality and service issues that are identified, and resolves in a timely manner to the customer's satisfaction. • Assures development of distribution sales force by providing proper training and support.• Coordinates and attends dealer meetings/training on products and programs.• Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.Job Requirements (Education & Experience):• A bachelor’s degree in business administration or relevant discipline is preferred but not required.• Five plus years experience in the building products industry including a mix of sales and/or marketing experience.• Must be able to demonstrate strong verbal communication, interpersonal and coaching skills to effectively lead, train and interact effectively with customers, suppliers and employees.• Must have a strong understanding of business drivers, planning and negotiations.Essential Physical Requirements:• Must be able to pick up and carry sample products of moderate weight in order to review and demonstrate product features and processes.• Ability and willingness to travel 80% of the time. Majority of time is spent in the field.• The functions of this position are performed in both a climate-controlled environment and outdoors. As a result, the incumbent will be required to work in extremes of cold, heat and humidity depending on the season and location.
