Regional Sales Manager - Excellent Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, results driven, energetic individual to join our team and become part of our dynamic, family owned business. The position is based in the greater Little Rock area and requires approximately 75% overnight travel in a multi-state territory.
Position: Responsible to professionally manage all sales related matters for assigned sales region, including dealer-direct sales plus two-step distribution.Will be personally responsible for an assigned territory within region. Also responsible to establish, train, and maintain a strong network of Manufacturer's Representatives and/or direct sales people and a strong customer base.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Reports to National Sales Manager Works in assigned region to establish, train, and maintain field sales representatives in all assigned sales territories. Screens feild sales representatives, being interviewed for a sales territory and reports to National Sales Manager on the strengths and weaknesses of each, making recommendations as to candidate of choice. Recommends termination of field sales representatives who, for whatever reason, should be replaced. Works with field sales representatives throughout sales region to establish dealers and/or distributors; initiates and maintains builder contacts, lodging and other channels of distribution as directed. Personally works to establish dealer-direct sales and/or two-step distribution in an assigned area as directed. Maintains favorable relations with all customers, including directing the administration of all customer promotional activities, and ensure that all customer entertainment is in line with corporate policy and procedures. Develops and recommends specific sales and marketing objectives and forecasts for products sold in each assigned territory; directs the execution of authorized sales plans and marketing programs to achieve or exceed sales and other sales and marketing objectives. Develops and recommends pricing strategy based on evaluation of economic conditions, competition, and state and federal legislation that affects the marketability of company products. Advises management of quality problems. Assures that customer's problems are properly resolved by following through to the satisfactory resolution of problems. Maintains regular communications with necessary departments for the purpose of suggesting product improvements, engineering changes, and improved quality standards. Obtains competitive literature and pricing information. Helps recommend pricing strategies. Keeps management informed of competitor's activities through preview of information from external sources. Recommends new product development to management. Evaluates customer requests for product modification or improvement, recommending action to management. Performs other duties/projects as assigned by Management.
Candidate: The candidate is a seasoned sales professional possessing direct sales experience as well as managing a network of Independent Manufacturer's Representatives. In order to be successful, the candidate must be a self-starter with strong sales, sales management, leadership, training, and motivational skills. Excellent presentation skills are required. Experience with technical products is strongly desired and a bi-lingual, English/Spanish, ability would be an advantage.
Requirements:
College level degree in Business administration or equivalent preferred. Excellent verbal/written communication and inter-personal skills. Ability to coordinate a high level of activities under a variety of conditions and constraints. Proven sales management experience to include management of both manufacturing representatives and/or direct sales staff. Proven and acceptable travel experience......overnight approximately 75% of the time. Proficient in the use of computers to include Microsoft Word, Excel, and contact relations management software. A positive can-do attitude. Strong work ethic and motivation to succeed.
