Regional VBSS Leader

The Regional VBSS Leader is responsible for the long-range technical vision of Six Sigma including development of technology road maps and working technically across functional areas and businesses.  The Regional VBSS Leader role is designed as an “in house” expert for disseminating knowledge, project identification and training/coaching primarily VBSS Leaders, but also Green Belts where appropriate.  Additionally, the Regional VBSS Leader will take leadership role in the larger, more complex program initiatives or projects to improve critical business processes that drive financial results.  The Regional VBSS Leader is required to attain Master Black Belt Certification.

 

JOB DUTIES:

§ Value Based Six Sigma Leadership.  Lead large scale and complex improvement projects within a value center, across value centers or across management companies and effectively coordinate these projects with the Regional VBSS Manager and other improvement project teams.  Project leadership includes identifying opportunities, defining and financially justifying projects, negotiating resources, launching project teams, using good project management to manage team activities, training and coaching of resources assigned to the team, leading teams to execute projects with the problem solving methodology, tracking project status and results, anticipating and removing project barriers, and developing team members.  It is also critical to identify integration issues with other projects/processes and coordinate the improvements with the appropriate project leader and process owners to accomplish the project goals.

§ Technical Leadership: Provide consultation and direction as a subject matter expert on the application of Lean Six Sigma methods to the VBSS community.

§ Recruit, coach and train team members: 

Project Teams: Assist the Regional VBSS Manager in identifying potential VBSS Leaders and recruit Team Members into the Value Based Six Sigma infrastructure.  Provide necessary training, coaching and consultation to team members to spread the base of Six Sigma Problem Solving tools and their application in project implementations. 

§ Communicate.  Ensure 2-way open communication throughout the organization for VBSS.  Communicate best practices and key learnings across the organization.

§ Measure results.  Manage the development and maintenance of methods and systems for measuring the degree to which the project goals, objectives and metrics are being met. 

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelors Degree or educational equivalent, preferably in Engineering or Business, or an equivalent level of work experience.

· Solid project management and team leadership skills.

· Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional level experience.  Position requires VBSS Black Belt certification and proven track record in the application of VBSS methods to business improvement.
