Research Engineer

Zeus Industrial Products, Inc. is the leading manufacturer of fluoropolymer tubing for use in the medical device, aerospace, electronics, analytical, semiconductor, and environmental industries.  We are seeking qualified candidates for the position of Research Engineer.

The Research Engineer will conduct and coordinate research related to the design, development, testing, and production of polymeric systems; must have the ability to inspire and support cross-functional teams and effectively manage multiple projects; and contribute innovative solutions and ideas to the R&D Team towards new product development and the growth of the Company. 

Primary Duties:
Hands on development of new products and processes with a polymeric emphasis Guide extrusion and related biomaterial processing activities Plan and coordinate projects within time and monetary constraints. Prepare in-house memos, reports, and other materials as needed. Compile information and prepare reports as requested. Conduct statistical analysis of processes, reactions and properties Hands-on involvement in product developments and continuous improvements Assure compliance with current good manufacturing and laboratory practices (cGMP, GLP). Assure compliance with quality system and other regulatory standards throughout all phases of research and development Other job related duties as assigned by the R&D Manager


Requirements: Masters Degree in Engineering, Polymer Science preferred, or closely related discipline 5 years of experience in a Research environment with proven accomplishments.


Specific Skills and Experience: Must function well within a team oriented organizational environment Ability to work independently and delegate work to others. Able to prioritize and understand the importance of deadlines. Good data recording ability. Strong math skills and ability to perform calculations as needed. Must be very detail-oriented and appreciate the value of accuracy. Ability to deal effectively with time pressures, stress, and changing demands of job on a regular basis. Ability to handle highly confidential business information. Hands on experience with polymer related product development Statistical Design and analysis of experiments implementation Strong process documentation skills Process optimization experience Tooling, screw and machine design skills a plus Strong project management skills Possess strong troubleshooting skills In-depth background in process and extrusion development Excellent communication skills both written and oral Strong computer skills in MS Office
