Rolltender

Location: Pineville, North Carolina. The Roll-tender is critical to the efficient operation of a printing press. Responsible for the safe and proper handling of paper rolls. It is imperative that the incumbent works closely with the Pressman and Press Supervisor to assure the efficient running of the press.Qualifications· Ability to develop a basic understanding of the printing process including plate making, roll-tending, and paper grades. Incumbent should have good interpersonal skills · Ability to work with his/her crew effectively.· Ability to prepare and understand basic paper usage reports.· Ability to comprehend and implement basic understanding of company policies and procedures regarding production standards. · Capable of standing on feet for amounts of time with limited opportunity to leave general work area. Work shifts are (12) hours in duration. The Roll-tender will be required to remain in the press area when the press is running or if preventative maintenance is being performed by the crew. The exception to this is thirty-minute lunch· Able to lift 50-75 pounds · Able to communicate and to respond to communication in a manufacturing environment. The pressroom is noisy and all plant employees are required to use hearing protection devices which are designed to muffle outside noises.
