S&K Value Stream Manager

Position Summary:

Direct and coordinate the activities of supervisors, direct and indirect members in fabricating through final assembly of S&K product for both OEM and replacement part customers.  Continuously improve the operation and the costs associated with manufacturing through the deployment of lean tools.  Ensure parts and final assemblies are made on time and meet the customers’ expectations of form, fit and function. Responsible for improving Quality from a process standpoint and coordinates Corrective Actions through Supervisors.

 

Principal Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

§  Responsible for machining, fabrication, welding and assembly operations of S&K product lines ensuring shipping receives a finished product or replacement part on a timely basis.

§  Working with and through others uses lean tools to improve cell layouts, optimize tooling and fixtures, one piece flow, safety, cleanliness and overall continuously improves the operation or the process or the product.

§  Responsible for profit and loss of the areas managed.

§  Hire and fire responsibilities for 40 to 60 manufacturing employees. Manages performance, selects and motivates the best people possible and maintains a viable workforce.

§  Ensures team members are cross trained and multi-functional. 

§  Plan and implement the purchase of equipment to improve tact time. 

§  Consolidate operations when warranted.

§  Ensures operations provide only quality products to be shipped to the end user.

§  Maintains records to demonstrate performance against mutually agreed goals. 



 

Requirements:

High School Education or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of supervisor experience or college education in an engineering, technical or business field with 1-2 years supervision experience

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, excel, word, outlook; knowledge of large enterprise software such as Oracle, J.D. Edwards, etc. proffered. Experience or knowledge of sheet metal cutting, forming, welding, and mechanical assembly a plus.
