The primary subsidiaries of Sybron Dental Specialties are Kerr Corporation, Ormco Corporation, and Metrex Research Corporation, while SybronEndo and Innova operate as divisions of Ormco Corporation and Orascoptic as a division of Kerr Corporation.We currently have an opening for a Logistics Leader (Transportation) at our Orange facility.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:• Provide strategic and tactical leadership of transportation & logistics across platform• Develop & implement logistics strategies that are aligned with and enhance platform strategies for quality, cost, delivery & growth• Use DBS Tools to drive continuous process improvements in on-time delivery, cost savings, carrier productivity, inventory reduction, and management of third party relationships• Help develop and implement Platform T&L supplier performance metrics to assure business deliverables are achieved• Partner with site operations personnel to assure they are in compliance with transportation safety & regulatory requirements through training and process consistency• Act as platform representative on corporate-wide T&L commodity team. Actively participate in commodity team decision-making, negotiations, and implementations• Drive effective use of corporate-wide T&L contracts to ensure ongoing leverage and lowest cost• Provide tactical support and conduct negotiations as required for platform sites where needed • Share best practices & expertise with other platforms on an occasional basis• Coordinate Trade Compliance training throughout the platform EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Bachelor degree required. Logistics major preferred. Advanced business degree beneficial• Experience - Seven to ten years overall business experience with at least five years of that in logistics, supply chain, transportation, or distribution management role(s) • Functional Training - Demonstration of continuing education in transportation & logistics (to ensure knowledge & understanding of leading edge practices & technology)SKILLS/ABILITIES:MOST IMPORTANT COMPETENCIES REQUIRED• Effective planning, organization, and leadership skills• Global transportation & logistics knowledge, skills, and demonstrated experience• Problem-solving skills• Excellent written & verbal communication skills• Strong analytical background including experience with tools such as Excel & Access• Ability & experience interfacing at all levels of the organization• Ability to articulate clear vision and convey a sense of urgency • Ability & willingness to work in a matrix organization with direct & indirect reporting relationships• Ability & willingness to achieve excellent results with minimal supervision SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS/REMARKS:WHY IS THIS A POSITION A CANDIDATE WOULD WANT TO CONSIDER?
