The incumbent provides insightful information on industry trends for assigned commodities that may affect quality, cost, availability and/or risk; manages key and high risk suppliers to ensure continuous flow of materials and minimize company liability; may lead and/or participate on a team in contract negotiations with key suppliers; and may assist in high visibility projects.Must have strong communication skills, attention to detail, customer service and team orientation, negotiation skills and effective decision making skills. Prefer professional expertise normally acquired through a relevant baccalaureate (4 year) college degree or equivalent education or 5 years of equivalent relevant experience. Prefer knowledge and/or experience of electronics, high tech or medical instrumentation, chemical and maintenance and repair commodity markets and related procurement processes, including current understanding of market trends and their significance to company products.
