SENIOR PRODUCT MANAGER
Genie Industries is a $2 billion (revenue) division of Terex Corporation. Genie, based in Redmond, WA, has approximately 4500 team members spread throughout the globe, though Redmond is the primary location, with 3000+ team members across the corporate campus. The parent company, Terex, is a $7.6 billion (revenue) company that manufactures, sells and services capital equipment for the mining and construction industries world wide. Terex is a Fortune 500 company, with a listed stock on the NYSE. The company is headquartered in Westport, CT. Genie is a company with a strong safety first mentality, team based culture, respect for the individual and high integrity. The company has grown rapidly over the past four years and is in the midst of a transition from a privately held small company, to a publicly owned big company. Management desires to maintain much of the small company informality while implementing some of the large company disciplines that are required in today's environment. We are seeking a Senior Product Manager to help determine the development and implementation of the business plan and strategy for the product line. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for a product line. They will be accountable to the General Manager. Drives the execution of strategic plans through extensive knowledge and research of customer needs, market trends, customer/market segmentation, distribution channel characteristics, target market size, external environmental trends, and financial analysis. Manages full product life cycles. Creates, manages and executes new product introduction strategies. Develops and executes pricing strategies. Responsible for capacity planning and capital investment planning. Responsible for driving an effective sales and distribution training program. Responsible for product strategies and promotional plans. Responsible for identifying and implementing new product offerings. Leads development of the marketing plans to support the business plan and strategy. Provides vision for the overall marketing campaign to support the business plan and strategy. Will drive the requests that are sent to the Marketing Solutions team. Coach, influence and educate others as to the business aspects of decisions. Assists with developing marketing campaigns and sales programs that improve brand image and drive volume. Responsible for the communication with customers on product specific issues and new opportunities. Drives product specific market research to support product development team. Maintains current knowledge of the competitive products and projects future strategies by competitors. Makes recommendations for innovative solutions to improve our short-term and long-term competitive position. Identifies opportunities for differentiation of our products and industry leadership. Balances regional needs to deliver an optimized worldwide solution. May suggest pricing strategies, analyze new business ventures, and assist key customers with marketing information and strategies. Manages programs for new products. • Performs other duties as assigned that support the overall objective of the position Bachelor's degree in Business or Marketing is required. MBA required. 10 years of product and marketing management experience. Additional experience can substitute for formal education. Knowledge of business financials Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices involved in new business development, product marketing, and sales Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build relationships, prepare and deliver formal presentations Expert understanding of the manufacturing, engineering and product support process Requires advanced knowledge of Lean philosophy and application to the roles of the team. Well-developed problem solving skills Requires strong time management skills Provide leadership under ambiguity. Analyze and guide sound business decisions based on research data and other input. Experience managing a team. Requires the ability to travel up to 25% of normal work hours. Must be comfortable demonstrating the complete line of Genie and Terex products working at full-extension heights.
