ST. LOUIS- Production Technician

Position Summary:The Production Technician is responsible for the operation and assigned maintenance of production equipment and making necessary adjustments or minor mechanical repairs to the machines and auxiliary equipment in a safe and efficient manner. Also responsible for performing and documenting required quality checks and visual inspections.Duties and Responsibilities:Production technicians are responsible for following all safety requirements, policies and reporting any unsafe conditions, operating and monitoring assigned machines and auxiliary equipment, functioning effectively within a team environment, completing all required training and technical criteria, attending all team meetings as required, performing quality checks and assuring all production conforms to specification, process inspections including heat control readings, cooling water temperatures and air pressure checks, preventative maintenance, participating in the development and implementation of line improvements and maintaining various daily production reports in SAP as required.Abilities and Skills Profile:Technically oriented and knowledgeable in manufacturing systems.Verbal and written communication ability.Able to multitask in a fast paced environment.Strong decision making skills with limited information.Leadership skills and team building.Qualifications:Bachelor Degree in engineering, plastics, packaging or technical field preferred, or 3-5 years of relevant work experiencePrior electromechanical maintenance preferredBasic computer skillsAbility to work in a fast paced environmentBeing a part of the Plastipak Team, you are eligible for a comprehensive benefit package, including health and dental insurance, vacation and holiday pay, 401(K) matching, tuition assistance and more.Plastipak Packaging, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer
