Pilgrim's Pride is seeking a Safety Lead at our Plant located in Mount Pleasant, TX. This position will provide assistance to the safety and health efforts of the Mount Pleasant Operations as directed by the Safety Manager.

Basic Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement and enforce governing safety and health policies and procedures.
• Perform safety and health training for employees, supervisors and upper management.
• Conduct incident investigations to ensure “root cause(s)” have been identified and that appropriate corrective action has been completed.
• Perform industrial hygiene monitoring per Pilgrim’s Pride Eastern Division Strategy and communicate results as required by OSHA.
• Assist in investigating vehicular accidents on and off site.
• Perform safety audits and inspections of the Mount Pleasant Operations, as well as track findings to ensure closure.
• Track and perform trend analysis of incidents to assist in identifying and addressing “root causes” of injuries and illnesses.
• Respond to employee and supervisor concerns in a timely manner.
• Will be responsible for OSHA documentation and overall knowledge of compliance (1910 Regulations)
• Coordinate the updating process of MSDS booklets for the Mount Pleasant operations.

Basic Quailifications:
• 3 months previous experience with safety and OSHA regulations.
• 1 year experience in a plant environment.
• 6 months experience using Microsoft office.
• Knowledge of purchasing system a plus.
• Capable of working without direct supervision.
• Ability to work overtime and change hours and shift as needed.
• Ability to assist in training and documentation.
• Must be detail oriented.
• Ability to work closely with plant management teams.
• Confidentiality a must.
• Knowledge of general safety policies and procedures.
• Ability to pass a background check and drug and alcohol test.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs.

Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED; Some college preferred.
