Safety Representative

A global company with a plant near Augusta, GA has an opening for a Safety Representative. This position is responsible for managing the plant’s day-to-day Safety, Environmental and Hygiene programs. He/she would also conduct/coordinate audits, testing, training, assessments, accident

investigations, and any other activities related to ensure compliance with Federal and State OSHA laws and environmental regulations. The Safety Representative would chair all safety committees and interact with other corporate facilities in the areas of safety, environmental, and industrial hygiene.  He/she would also conduct safety orientation where so instructed and assure that emergency planning procedures, safety policies and crisis management plans are kept current and are regularly practiced. This is a highly visible position and requires a BS degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Health, Industrial Hygiene, or related field. Candidates must also have a minimum of 3 years experience in a professional position in a safety- related field. He/she must be knowledgeable in OSHA and EPA regulations, and the principles, practices and methods of evaluating occupational risk assessments, as well as possess strong technical, analytical and managerial skills.
