This position may be based in Appleton Wisconsin or in the selected candidate's home country.
Expected Results: Develop and enhance Appleton's position in the market by effectively promoting Appleton's capabilities, products and service to customers and potential customers. Lead, manage and motivate the sales efforts to ensure the region achieves established revenue, volume, price, profit and account retention goals. Build and develop the region's sales representatives and agents to create a culture with a focus on successful sales performance and enhanced professional growth.
Supporting Activities: Develop strategic customer targets and lead all sales development efforts for penetration strategy and tactics Responsible for developing an in-depth knowledge of market demands and trends. Capture and analyze this information for purposes of improving sales results and providing input to marketing. Maintain visibility and build relationships with key customers and accounts. Provide active sales coaching, mentoring and training to Appleton agents and sales personnel. Advise sales personnel about pricing decisions and price negotiation process within established guidelines. Analyze and control expenditures of region to conform to division budgetary requirements. Participate in industry organizations. Provide consistent interpretation and implementation of existing sales policies and procedures. Establish timely training and communication for team to convey information relevant to new techniques, marketing initiatives and corporate requests. Monitor and enhance customer satisfaction in conjunction with Appleton's pricing, customer service, technical services and production teams. Oversee sales plan implementation through individual performance monitoring.
Required Prior Accomplishments, Experience, Skills: Experience in an international business environment required. Solution selling experience and new account development is necessary. Prior experience managing a regional sales force Flexible, innovative and able to respond appropriately in a fast-paced, time-critical environment. A demonstrated ability to lead, manage and engage in a complex and dynamically changing environment. This will require strong team building, coaching, mentoring and motivational skills. Ability to build a strong sales team that utilizes a consultative selling style. Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; ability to "think on your feet". 40-50% travel. Bachelor's Degree plus at least 5 years industry experience. Multiple language capabilities a plus.
