Sales Representative - Heating Oil

Expanding 110-year-old family fuel oil, heating & air conditioning company with five offices throughout Eastern Massachusetts seeks highly motivated individual interested in joining an experienced team of fifteen sales representatives actively competing in the market to "sign up" new heating oil customers.  Candidates must enjoy speaking with people over the telephone, have prior sales and customer service experience, and be comfortable with computers.  A generous sales territory, training, and on-going support will be provided.

The sales cycle can be described as follows.  Step 1: Design and mail high-impact postcards to targeted residential neighborhoods and small businesses.  Step 2: Respond to inbound phone calls resulting from mailings.  Step 3:  Stay organized and follow up on leads until opportunities result in sales.  Step 4: Once sold, stay close to customers to ensure a long-term relationship is preserved.  Step 5: If inbound calls dwindle, think of creative ways to sell more business: consider outbound calls, personal visits, developing referral relationships, etc..Approximately 70% of sales result from inbound calls resulting from mailings.
