Sales Representative - Outside/Inside Sales

Reed Minerals is the leading producer in Coal Slag abrasives in the United States! We are part of a Multi-National services company with 3.69 BILLION in annual sales. We are seeking a Sales Representative employee for our corporate office in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania. We offer a very competitive wage and benefits package.

 

GENERAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The primary function of the Sales Representative is to grow the sales volume of Reed Minerals in accordance with the sales plan.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

1) Management of sales for Reed Minerals in assigned territory

2) Identifying and creating new sales opportunities

3) New business prospecting and development, including cold calling; scheduling client introductions and meetings; and preparing presentations, proposals, and bid specifications to strategically win new business.

4) Assist in the development of and drive the business sales plan

5) Drive to exceed annual sales targets

6) Become the face of “Reed Minerals” in the marketplace for the abrasive product line while ensuring excellent customer relationships are established and maintained

7) Ensure new product opportunities are identified and submitted to operations

8) Periodically attend customer sales meetings and training seminars

9) Building new and solidifying existing relationships with customers

10) Assist in the development of marketing materials

 

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

EDUCATION

Bachelors Degree (B. A. or B. S.) from a four-year college or university

 

EXPERIENCE

Three to five years of proven commercial (business to business) sales experience. Proven ability to achieve established sales goals along with the ability to train and educate others on the product.

 

SKILLS and/or ABILITIES

Communication: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Written skills include the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Listening to and define key customer needs/opportunities and translate them into value solutions by Reed Minerals. Presentation skills include being able to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Presentations will range from verbal discussions to formal presentations.

 

Math: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Strategic thinker who can evaluate new market development opportunities and recommend effective action plans toward growth. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This job requires a variable work environment that includes both office work and field sales. Travel will vary, but should be expected to be 50 - 75%.

 

EQUIPMENT USED:  

Computer skills are required, including familiarity with Microsoft Office software, calculator and telephone.
