Job Summary:
Under limited supervision, performs duties following established procedures in the following areas:
Essential Functions:
Promotes through sales and marketing efforts an extensive catalog of health and wellness-themed books and booklets to retailers/buyers. Sells and markets entire product line of books and booklets to retailers/buyers. Determines customer needs and sales potential. Conceptualizes, develops, and executes marketing and promotional objectives. Works closely with distributors that service the book trade and health food store sectors. Develops customer relations by educating customers and retailers about the company’s products, services, and prices. Travels to visit retailers and distrubutors for the purpose of evaluating and enhancing current and prospective sales. Maintains and services existing accounts and seeks opportunities to create new accounts. Identifies areas of growth within existing accounts and works with buyers to accomplish growth. Works effectively and efficiently within a team to expand and serve our customer base. Works with Nutraceutical sales reps to service retail accounts. Answers customer/distributor’s questions and handles customer service situations. Prepares reports of business transaction and keeps expense accounts. Schedules appointments with retailers/buyers of the health food store accounts. Conduct and maintain store inventories as needed. Makes regular visits and sales calls to retailers and distributors. Creates marketing and sales promotional programs that meet goals for sales figures. Responsible for enhancing online marketing/sales programs and accounts.
Additional Responsibilities:
Support of and involvement in company, department, and/or safety policies, procedures, programs and activities. Maintenance of a clean and orderly work area.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have knowledge of a variety of basic computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. Work requires strong presentation skills and continual attention to detail while establishing priorities and meeting sales goals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients and customers. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; and talk or hear. Employee must exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include near acuity, far acuity, depth perception, accommodation, color vision, and field of vision.
