Sanitation Coordinator

Sanitation Coordinator

Work for a great company as a Sanitation Coordinator.  In this position, having food manufacturing experience is a must and you will manage and coordinate the activities of the Sanitation department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates. You will also train supervisors and team leaders in sanitation activities for the organization personally or through subordinate supervisors.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.Enforces established operational procedures for sanitation regularly evaluates procedures and recommends changes as necessary.Inspects physical condition of sanitation equipment and identifies necessary related repairs and formulates requests for repairs or for replacement of sanitation related equipment keep it on operational conditions.Studies production schedule estimates and plans worker hour requirements for completion of the job assignment.Directly supervises all shift supervisors by delegating responsibilities effectively and promoting teamwork within the sanitation department as well as between all other departments.Responsible for maintaining approved crewing levels and operating within budgetary guidelinesSuggests ways to reduce labor or supply costs.Confers with other coordinators and supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.Confers with managers and supervisor to coordinate sanitation orders, i.e. chemicals and supplies.Confers with management, quality assurance, operations, maintenance, and warehouse personnel on sanitation issues to improve sanitation standards and the purity of the product.Fills out appropriate paperwork, i.e. accident reports, payroll, vacation requests, and counseling forms.Maintains current job descriptions for all sanitation positions.Completes MCS, Pre-ops, Pest Control log, CIP log, temperature log in a timely manner.Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists the supervisor and team leaders and workers in solving problems.Resolve worker complaints or submits unsettled complaints to Human Resources.Promotes safe work environment through training and implementation.Monitors and interprets company policies to the workers and enforces sanitation procedures and safety programs.Participates in planning personnel safety and plant protection activities including sanitation-training programs.Participates in accident investigation review to assist with preventing and eliminating plant wide hazards.Maintain safe operating practices. Meet safety guidelines and recommends changes to equipment, processes, workspace, tools, and other factor that may play a role in department and plant wide.Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety related issues to Management.Maintain good employee relations in being firm, fair and consistent.Encourage open, two-way communication at all levels.  Implement and developments subordinate though proper training, coaching and mentoring.Establishes and maintains adequate training, cross training and retraining programs for all sanitation employees.Initiates or suggests plans or training programs to motivate workers to achieve our goals.Interprets specifications, job orders, and assigns duties to the workers.Performs ongoing evaluation to ensure that we are following sanitation procedures as written and/or recommend changes as needed.Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices).Reports promptly to department manager when delays occur, estimate time of the delay and take appropriate action to minimize production downtime.Performs other related duties as assigned.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be resourceful, work in an organized manner and within designated budget constraints. Education:Must have 3 years of supervisory related experience andor training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Skills and Experience:Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, cleaning procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.Ability to write reports, Business correspondence, and procedure manual.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.The ability to communicate well, verbally and in writing, within and outside of the organization is critical.  Bilingual (Spanish) helpful.Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Graphical analytical abilities and basic SPC understanding.Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram from.Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized and unique situations.Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, talk, and hear. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this  Work Environment:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts. The employee occasionally works in high, precautious places and is exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, toxic or caustic chemicals, and extreme heat. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
