Screw Machine Operator (2nd or 3rd shift)

Operate Screw Machines to safely produce parts that meet Graco quality requirements at the lowest cost in a timely manner. Consistently meeting Graco expectations for accuracy of work, while minimizing waste by caring for product, equipment and facilities. Meet or exceed departmental goals of efficiency and productivity. This position has openings for both the Anoka and Rogers locations.

 

Responsibilities:

· Performs deburring and degreasing operations to parts produced on Screw Machines.

· Initiates and follows layouts for speeds, feeds, tooling and operational sequences.

· Participates in QAT and CAT to identify and solve problems to continually improve quality.

· Performs set-ups, and production runs on Automatic Screw Machines, and some assembly of parts as work load dictates.

· Use shop floor reporting system to input accurate activity information relative to Quality and Quantity of parts produced.

· Troubleshoot process problems and work with area Engineers to correct and document information.

· Understand tooling requirements to set-up and operate machines in the department.

· Demonstrated ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimum supervision and maintain quality performance levels.

· Demonstrated skill in the use of precision measurements and Graco standards.

· Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe (set-ups, run) acts which may cause injury to self, other or environment.

· Performs set-up and production runs on Automatic Screw Machine under minimal supervision.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

· High School diploma or equivalent.

· Basic Math, Shop Math, Basic Blueprint, Intermediate Blueprint and/or (PC Skills for Manufacturing*), (Measurement Skills for Manufacturing*), Math for Machinists, Blue Print Reading for Machinists, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing lll, SPC Theory (As Required), SPC Software (As Required).

· 1+ years screw machine experience.

· Understand tooling requirements to set-up and operate machines in the departments, including pre-setting of tools.

· Demonstrated ability to perform a sequence of operations under minimum supervision and consistently maintain the performance level set for quality and quantity.

· Demonstrated ability to set-up and run standard machine operations to specified tolerances and operational sequences.  Must recognize problems and adjust machines accordingly.  Could involve work on all machines in area.

· Understanding of safety rules and regulations to prevent unsafe set-ups, runs and acts which may cause injury to self, others or environment.
