Senior Accountant

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and self starter who will be responsible for guiding and directing all activities of accounting, job costing and reporting.  Candidate will also perform general accounting functions such as preparing and entering journal entries, reconciling and analyzing various general ledger accounts and other financial statement analyses as well as assisting external auditors during annual audit. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Generating and reviewing Revenue and Gross Margin reports and backlog;

* Reviewing and investigating unusual cost changes.

* Ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are reconciled to the sub-ledgers or properly

   supported schedules each month to ensure all balances are accurate.

* Monthly reviewing and reconciling the inventory system perpetual report to the

G/L inventory balance including various outside locations.

* Reviewing inventory adjustments, ensuring proper valuation and costing of inventory.

* Reviewing and reconciling inventory receipt accruals.

* Analysis and implementation of job cost accounting methods and procedures.

* Identify opportunities for process and cost improvements.

* Prepare ad-hoc profitability analysis

 

The Senior Accountant is responsible for performing balance sheet and expense account analysis, analyzing financial statements and various accounting related tasks. Other duties will include financial analysis, preparation of special reports, providing recommendations on cost savings measures, and controls, and working with other departments to translate financial data. Also responsible to: Compile cost data for preparation of annual budgets.  Analyze cost of goods sold variance accounts each month and prepare reports.  Review monthly cycle count reports for large variances.  Ensure un-saleable and discontinued items are disposed of, written off or reserved for as appropriate.  Prepare various financial analysis and special projects.  This opening is in our Ozonia North America office located in Elmwood Park, New Jersey.

 

Qualifications:

8 + years of accounting experience desired

Must have good communication skills

Must be adept at Excel and Word

Experience with job costing 

CPA a plus.

Reports to Controller.
