Senior Accountant - SEC

The Senior Accountant provides accounting support for the books and records of Consolidated Dean Foods and assists with the preparation of external financial reports. This support will be instrumental in ensuring the company maintains strong and accurate accounting records and in meeting compliance requirements. This will be accomplished by utilizing the Senior Accountant’s experience base in accounting and financial controls. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in preparing footnotes and tables to forms 10-K and 10-Q as required by the SEC and accomplishes related requirements as set by the company to ensure that all information is timely, accurate, and complies with generally accepted accounting principles Assist in completing the monthly, quarterly and annual reporting process and ensuring financial reports are accurate, have been reviewed and have appropriate supporting documentation Working with the External Reporting Manager to support internal/external audit in ensuring all controls are in place and any discrepancies noted are corrected or have a measurable action plan in place to correct the discrepancies Performing special projects as required and other duties as assigned     Education – required to possess an undergraduate degree (B.S or equivalent) in Accounting or an undergraduate degree in business, or related field, with a minimum of 30 semester hours of accounting credit.  An advanced degree in Accounting or CPA license is desired, but not required. Experience – minimum of 3 years related experience, preferably from work assignments in SEC or General Accounting.  Specialized Knowledge – strong knowledge of GAAP and other areas related to financial reporting requirements.  Knowledge of Hyperion and JDEdwards a plus, but not required. Additional Qualifications – (1) be a strong team player who is able to work across multiple functions and disciplines, (2) possess strong analytical skills with an attention to detail, (3) have strong verbal and written communication skills that will allow them to express the key points in a clear manner, (4) have the ability to take initiative and work with minimal direction when necessary to support the group’s objectives.
