 Job Overview:

As the Director of Engineering – Product Development, you will oversee projects encompassing mechanical, electrical and software design for wireless control systems.  You will spend a significant amount of time managing projects that incorporate RF communication. Additionally, our products communicate with other automation equipment via Ethernet, RS-232 protocol, and low voltage relays, therefore the ability to lead developments that advance success in these areas is a must. You will supervise a team of more than 40 engineers and technicians and be expected to launch multiple products per year.

 Responsibilities:

▪ Manage multiple projects to meet cost, quality and delivery targets.

▪ Mentor and coach engineering teams, helping them through obstacles and technical challenges.

▪ Manage engineering teams in multiple locations around the globe.

▪ Oversee the development of our next generation graphical user interface.

▪ Recruit and develop engineering talent.

▪ Work with SBU Leader to establish project priorities and resources.

 

Qualifications:

▪ BSME or BSEE.

▪ 20+ years overall experience.

▪ 10+ years experience managing large engineering teams (75-100 people) in full life cycle product development.

▪ Strong background introducing high quality long lasting products – demonstrated track record of quality and reliability in products launched.

▪ Track record of managing multiple engineering teams in remote locations (either contract engineering or engineering teams in another physical location.)

▪ Experience managing software development.

▪ Consumer product background – electronics a plus.

▪ Strong driver, strong sense of urgency.

▪ Flexible, accommodating – able to handle ever shifting priorities and deadlines.
