Senior Benefits Analyst - Corporate Office:

 JOB SUMMARY:The Senior Benefits Analyst maintains, implements and assists in development/design of global benefit plans and programs.  This includes benefit programs for all active and retired Southco employees and its subsidiaries.  Assists Director of Corporate Benefits in developing  benefits strategies.  Monitors all benefit programs for compliance with global laws and regulations.  JOB DESCRIPTION & DUTIES:Analyzes Southco benefit plan provisions and utilization data against external trends, plan design, cost efficiency and overall global benefit (Southco) objectives and strategies. Monitors and maintains plan compliance for US health, welfare and retirement plans.  Provides support on ad hoc basis for benefit programs outside of the US.  Handles all US QDRO and QMSO matters for Southco US facilities. Provides global technical support, plan interpretation, and research to the facility human resources staff regarding benefits implementation and administration.  Develops and delivers employee communications regarding all benefits including letters, postings, general mailings, seminars, annual open enrollment mailings and employee meetings.  Conducts employee presentations several times during the year. Acts  as a primary liaison with carriers, vendors and consultants on a strategic level regarding various matters such as plan design, contracts, renewals, plan provisions, and coverage. Provides pre-retirement benefit estimates, employee counseling, and retirement benefit plan support for all US employees.  Serves as the overall corporate point of contact for all US Southco retirees.  Sets up annuity payments and monitors Pension Plan Trust activity monthly.  Sets up and monitors retiree medical, life and supplemental benefit plans. Develops, monitors and analyzes annual health and welfare benefits budget for the US ($7mm). Keeps abreast of employee benefit trends and issues globally.  This includes reading professional journals, attending workshops and seminars, research via the internet, etc.  Perform special projects as assigned by Director of Corporate Benefits.  Continuously looks for ways to improve benefit efficiencies through process, automation and communications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, HR or analytical field

· Practical knowledge in and experience with  employee benefit plan design, practices, and strategies for health, welfare and pension/retirement plans (2-5 years).

· Excellent analytical & organization skills.

· Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access

· Ability to communicate effectively in writing, person to person and when conducting employee presentations.

· Experience in HRIS a plus.
