Senior Cost Accountant

A Leading Manufacturing Company located in Middlesex County, New Jersey has the need for a Senior Cost Accountant who will be responsible for the following activities:

 

- Month-end financial reporting and analysis

- Assist in the budgeting and planning processes and the creating of new product cost estimates

- Analyze bills of material and report final costs to division

- Prepare inter-company billings

- Analyze monthly production and record results in the general ledger

- Analyze monthly manufacturing variances

- Provide cost estimates for new products by coordinating efforts with purchasing department

- Coordinate cycle counting

- Prepare and input monthly journal entries

- Foster and maintain open relationship with divisions

- Prepare the daily sales and gross margin report for the regional distribution center

- Maintain related item distribution data in the company system 

- Review and authorization of daily inventory adjustments

- Provide accounting department with guidance and support of cycle count and physical inventory

- Prepare month end balance sheet reconciliation schedules for inventory, suspense liability and inventory transfers

 

Qualified Candidates for this position will possess:

 

- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

 -2+ years of related experience

- Knowledge of General Ledger reconciliations, inventory and costing, variance reporting, and standard accounting practices

- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
