Senior Engineer/LEAN SixSigma Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:

This position provides support to manufacturing processes and requires technical leadership skills in order to drive process and quality improvements.  This individual will lead Jeannette’s effort in the utilization of LEAN SixSigma tools and philosophies and will act as a change agent in identifying and managing projects that deliver bottom line results to drive improved performance and positive change.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Lead continuous improvement projects to increase productivity, maximize profitability and improve customer satisfaction.

· Monitor, evaluate and analyze process/equipment performance to identify areas requiring improvement.

· Apply statistical methods and analysis to improve process capability, reduce process variation, and optimize process performance.

· Facilitate Kaizen Events leading to rapid improvements.

· Translate Voice of Customer into OMNOVA processes

· Train OMNOVA associates in LEAN SixSigma tools and philosophies

· Provide project status and report on all assigned projects in timely manner.

· Continually monitor new technology for process optimization opportunities.

· Support project implementation by reviewing installation plans, coordinating start-ups, documenting changes, updating procedures, and training operators.

· Understand and comply with all Corporate, Jeannette, and OSHA regulations within the facility.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

· BS Degree in Engineering or Science

· 5 years hands-on experience in web handling manufacturing (preferably PVC)

· Supervisory / Management experience

· Strong project management skills

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Works well independently and in team environment

· Strong PC skills (Proficiency in Microsoft Office)

· Advanced problem solving and facilitation skills

 

DESIREABLE QUALIFICATIONS:

· LEAN SixSigma Certification (Greenbelt or Blackbelt)

· PVC formulating

· Calendering experience

· Experience working in Union environment
