Description: NanoGram is seeking a highly motivated engineer to work on developing Laser Reactive Deposition (LRD™ ) process technology as a revolutionary manufacturing technology for deposition of functional materials for a range of product applications. The focus for the candidate will be LRD equipment concept designs, deposition process development and film and materials characterization. This position demands an individual who would make significant contributions to the multi-faceted development of LRD process equipment and process technology. The candidate should be willing and eager to work hands-on with LRD equipment, process and materials characterization equipment and tools.
Driving the film development for applications involves:
- Development concept for equipment set-up, evaluation of new design builds for suitability to the deposition process
-Experimental planning, execution, analysis of materials with appropriate characterization
-Results interpretation, report writing, developing results database, developing hypotheses, designing new experiments, and advocating new research directions
-Providing recommendations and input for equipment modifications and engineering designs to improve equipment performance
-Managing the process technicians responsible for supporting and operating reactor
Requirements:
· Primarily seeking candidates with Chemical Engineers, Material Science, Physics or Electrical Engineering background, with extensive semiconductor processing experience
· MS with at least 6-8 years experience or Ph.D. with 4-6 years experience
· Experience with PVD, Plasma enhanced or PECVD, APCVD, general low and high temperature materials deposition techniques such as a-Si, polycrystalline (LTPS) Si and other semiconductor thin films for photovoltaic or display applications
· Experience with designing reactors with consideration to and understanding of fluid flow modeling, and design
· Strong background and understanding of equipment design-process-material property relationships
· Experience with managing stresses in thin films and thin film deposition
· Solid experience with silicon CVD processes for a-Si and polycrystalline silicon and related deposition issues
· Demonstrated ability to design and execute on an experimental plan
· Broad and deep understanding of advanced materials and film characterization methods including XRD, TEM, EDX/SEM, SIMS, XRF, semiconductor film mobility measurements and other thin-film materials and surface characterization techniques
· Ability to perform both independent research as well as team directed engineering
· Preference will be to experience of working with lasers and laser optics specifically high-powered CO2 laser
Desired characteristics:
-Experience with PECVD, CVD of amorphous silicon, silicon nitrides
-Broad experience and understanding of deposition methods for materials in electronics
