Job ID: 12722Position Description:The Senior External Reporting Analyst is responsible for the preparation of external reporting to government agencies (Securities & Exchange Commission, United States Census Bureau) and management reporting to Senior Executives and Board of Directors. Position has responsibility in ensuring compliance with financial disclosures requirements of all accounting and governmental authorities.Responsibilities:Coordinates the preparation of all external financial reporting. This includes the following reports: SEC quarterly report on Form 10Q; SEC annual report on Form 10K and various governmental census reports. Coordination includes contact with other parts of the organization and development of due dates for all schedules/information required. Also includes coordination of typesetting of the Form 10K for inclusion in the Annual Report.Prepares monthly/quarterly reporting to senior management and the Board of Directors. This includes Company Financial Results, Board Package, Company Box Score and Flash reports, Internet sales and quarter Company narrative.Reviews the EDGAR version of all SEC filings to ensure completeness and accuracy.Responsible for the research and review of new pronouncements as they are issued by accounting and governmental regulatory agencies (SEC, FASB, PCAOB) and determine applicability to the Company. Work with General Accounting staff to ensure proper accounting and reporting.Provide backup support for other positions within the department.Assist Standard Reporting Manager, VP of Financial Reporting and VP & Controller in special projects, as needed.Position Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in accounting and a CPA is required.Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public accounting or industry.Strong knowledge of SEC reporting and disclosure requirements and also of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).Strong PC skills and knowledge of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.Also required:-Strong sense of accuracy and attention to detail.-Results oriented and awareness of deadlines.-Good analytical skills and ability to recognize unusual trends.-Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.-Strong written and verbal communication skills.-Ability to work independently-Ability to interface with senior managementGrainger is a Fortune 500 company and the leading broad line supplier of facilities maintenance products serving businesses and institutions throughout North America with sales of over $5 billion.
