Sr. Field Service Engineer / In-House Technician

 

PVA TePla America, Inc. is well-recognized as a leading supplier of high-quality, highly reliable plasma treatment systems used in the semiconductor, industrial and medical industries. We are currently seeking a full-time Sr. Field Service Engineer / In-House Technician at our headquarters in Corona, CA. The ideal candidate will possess a knowledge and understanding of vacuum technology, RF and microwave plasma and technical documentation including electrical schematics, block diagrams, mechanical assemblies and piping diagrams.

 

Summary: Assembles, wires, tests and troubleshoots complex electro-mechanical control devices, switch panels, transformers, PCB’s, mechanisms, generators and other electrical or mechanical devices, equipment, systems and components – including computer hardware and software. Performs installations and training at customers’ site related to system start-up, use and maintenance of equipment and programming. Excellent customer service skills a must.

 

Other responsibilities include: Follows shop work orders and performs assembly operations. Verifies conformance of parts to kit lists and/or engineering bills of material. Diagnoses system or component problems and determines methods to correct. Tests operation of assembly.  Inspects assembled machines and aids in correcting discrepancies.  May participate in packing / unpacking systems.Field Service travel expected to be approx. 30% - mostly domestic, some international.

 

Education, Skills & Experience:BS Degree or Trade School Certification in a technical field and 5+ years experience in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong background in the assembly, testing troubleshooting and repair of high-tech capital equipment.Experience with computer-controlled processing equipment.
