Senior Financial Analyst

  Supporting corporate profitability by developing and providing financial analysis, which assists in the understanding of corporate revenue and cost elements and measuring performance. Working closely with high-level management, develop ad hoc reports to analyze business trends, take an active role in the company profit improvement initiatives, and other projects as may be required. Ad hoc projects in support of operations on a worldwide basis. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:   Provides center point of guidance on the application of GAAP across all operating units. Works closely with VP, Finance and CFO to ensure compliance with all regulatory agencies as it applies to the operating segments Provides financial leadership and support to the assigned business segment for their financial review process including designing senior management presentations and reports, variance analysis, and reviewing and analyzing quarterly estimate. Performs appropriate financial analysis, business analysis, and profitability and cost analysis for the assigned business segment Utilizing independent judgment and discretion, identifies trends, variances, and key issues and provides recommendations for adjustment. Assists management to make fact based decisions and understand past events so appropriate actions plans can be established. Interface with internal programming staff to design and develop custom EBS generated reports to standardize reporting across all segments. Lead efficiency/cost reduction projects utilizing the company’s MVP tools. Support acquisition efforts through participation in due diligence and post acquisition integration support. Prepares monthly financial package to include monthly budget to actual amounts and fluctuations as well as analysis to prior year. Engages with internal managers to review and explain variances Assist operations in developing and implementing effective financial controls. Maintains an in-depth knowledge of the activities and financial positions of the company’s major competitors. Performs internal and external research and analyzes issues related to sales, gross margin, rate of return, working capital, investment and financial performance. Assists the CFO and CEO with quarterly investor conference calls May design, enhance and maintain system applications for processing and reporting financial information. May administer risk management and loss prevention programs to maintain maximum protection of the organization's assets at the most economical rates. May review and analyze insurance and risk management programs for effectiveness of coverage and to reduce insurance costs and losses. Additional duties as assigned.     KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIREMENT TO PERFORM JOB:   Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or technical degree with Finance oriented MBA 10+ years of relevant finance/accounting/manufacturing experience. Strong business and financial analytical skills. Ability and desire to become engaged in the details of prepared analysis as necessary Strategic and forward-looking outlook, ability to identify issues on the horizon Ability to excel with limited direction/supervision under ambiguous circumstances Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, ability to succinctly explain economic trends to non-financial and/or line business people, and communicate effectively with Senior Financial Management. Strong leadership and interpersonal skills for areas such as implementation of action plans, resolving issues, and forging consensus between groups with divergent interests and differing viewpoints Working knowledge of US GAAP both theory and practice.
