Senior Grounds & Bldg. Maintenance Technician

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

Ø Assists with scheduling and supervising maintenance and grounds technicians to accomplish duties outlined.

Ø Maintains buildings and grounds including mechanical and electrical equipment.

Ø Performs repairs on equipment including fabricating and welding parts.

Ø Maintains grounds including snow plowing and landscaping.

Ø Constructs walls and partitions, wiring phone and electrical connections.

Ø Provides backup to Facilities Manager.

 

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

 

Ø Maintains carpeting, tile floors, furniture, offices, etc. Strips and waxes floors.

Ø Repairs furniture. 

Ø Replaces ceiling tiles involving custom fitting and grid repair.

Ø Cleans various office locations, removes trash, washes walls and performs general housekeeping.

Ø Builds, installs and repairs wall and cubicle paneling involving drywall erection, painting and

Ø wiring installations.

Ø Relocates offices and constructs furnishings to fit.  

Ø Performs plumbing installations, repairs system leaks, cleans drains, maintains flush valves,

Ø Installs and repairs and tests electrical and phone wiring.

Ø Troubleshoots systems and corrects problems to insure proper functioning.

Ø Schedules maintenance for furnace and air conditioning systems including changing of filters. 

Ø Maintains energy management system.

Ø Insures proper functioning of all units and backup power supplies.

Ø Operates and maintains mowing and trimming equipment to keep property in excellent condition.

Ø Repairs machinery. 

Ø Plows and salts roads and parking areas.

Ø Applies fertilizer, weed control and pesticides to the grounds.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

 

Ø Requires mechanical reasoning ability and aptitude.

Ø Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools.

Ø Knowledge of basic carpentry, painting, drywall installation.

Ø Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, and phone wiring.

Ø Experience in grounds maintenance including pesticide application license.

Ø Ability to acquire NYS Pesticide Applicators License.

Ø Knowledge of plumbing.

Ø Ability to climb ladders and move about to facilities.

Ø Must possess a clean driving record.
